Stephen Ministers care for people who are:

-Grieving
-Experiencing loss of a job
-In need of long-term care
-Aging
-Terminally ill
-Hospitalized
-Divorcing
-Going through a crisis
-Going through a life situation change
-Going through a difficult time

Stephen Ministers are assigned to an individual and meet with that person, on a confidential basis, once a week for about an hour to:

-Listen
-Explore feelings and
-Offer Christian support
-Pray
-Share Christ's love
-Give care to others but
-Leave the results to God

Stephen Ministers are members of Gethsemane United Methodist Church who are equipped to provide one-to-one distinctively Christian care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, in and around our church family. They receive 50 hours of special training to provide this care and also participate in twice-monthly supervision and continuing education under the direction of our Stephen Leaders.
