What's Your Next Step?
We encourage you to take the Next Step. "Next Step toward what?", you might be asking. Toward Christ, and becoming more like Him! This is our church's purpose of Discipleship: Intentionally encouraging believer to become more Christ-like. Jesus' example shows us that becoming more like Him means growing in how we Love God, Love Others, and Serve. The Bible often describes the process of becoming more Christ-like as a journey, a walk or path. So to become more Christ-like, we must take some Steps! We are all in different places on this journey, so for each of us the Next Step will be different. But God is clearly calling each one of us to take it. "Continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ", 2 Peter 3:18.
Before you decide what your Next Step is, take some time to pray and ask God to guid you. "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths", Proverbs 3:6. If you have any questions, contact Linda Pevey at (302) 629-2862 or by e-mail at linda-pevey@comcast.net.
Next Step suggestions:
Pick up the "What's Your Next Step?" map: This map is designed to introduce you to all that is available to help you grow in your faith, and to help you choose and commit to taking your Next Step. Sometimes we get overwhelmed with choices and just don't know what to do next. Just like a road map, this map will show you all the options and help you navigate through the choices to figure out what the Next Step is. Each person that commits to taking their Next Step will receive a wrist band to help remind them of their commitment. For more opportunities, check out the Discipleship page.
Join a Small Group: If you are not in a Small Group, joining one should be your First Step. We each need a group of Christians in our lives to walk with us on the journey. It's not always easy, and God did not intend for any of us to go it alone. He gave us other Christians to support us and love us and grow with us. New groups are starting this month, and many of the existing groups are starting new studies this month, so this is a great time to get involved.
Take a CLASS: Have you taken any of our CLASS offerings? CLASS stands for Christian Life And Service Seminar. Each one is designed to take us to deeper levels of commitment to Christ. All CLASSes run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, unless otherwise indicated. Sign up at the Welcome Center, by e-mail to linda-pevey@comcast.net, or call the church office at (302)629-2862.
